We welcome and wholeheartedly accept voluntary and unconditional donation contributions from Indian and Foreign donors via Our Online Donations website portal for the noble cause of Gurudev H.H. Swami Sivananda’s mission and The Divine Life Society.

Sivananda Online Donations website portal has been established to enable You to make donation(s) towards the charitable activities and the functioning of The Divine Life Society.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We have to collect and hold specific data (listed below) as necessary for the successful operation of Our website. 

2.1  Guest / Registered Donor Account information

• Full Name (Salutation, First Name, Surname)
• Country of Citizenship
• Full postal address (House number, Street/Road Name, City, Postal/Zip code, District, State, Country) 
• PAN (mandatory for Indian donors; optional for Foreign donors)
• Passport (optional for both Indian and Foreign donors)
• Email Id
• Telephone numbers (Mobile No, and optionally, Landline No) 
• User ID Account password. 

2.2  Donations Transactional information

• Donor Name
• Donation date/time
• Donation Fund Type and donation amount against it 
• Transaction ID (generated by the system)
• Online Receipt No. (generated by the system).

3  Why do we collect this information?

We collect this information so that We can: 

• Process Your donation
• Acknowledge and issue You with a Receipt for Your donation
• Improve the service on Our website.

4  Who do we share your information with?

We keep all information that you have provided as confidential. It will not be shared with any other organisations or third parties except in such exceptional circumstances that we may be required to do so by law to legal authorities (e.g., Income Tax Department and Ministry of Home Affairs of Government of India). 

The information will also be used by authorised persons in the Ashram’s departments (General Secretary’s Office, Accounts Office) in order to manage routine financial administration and operational activities of the Ashram.     

5  What do We do with your information?

Your information is stored in Our website system so that We can manage and account for donations received. 

In addition, the account information allows You continued access to the website for use of the donation services provided.

6  What communication will you receive from us?

6.1  An Email confirmation from the General Secretary with an attached Online Receipt for Your donation. It will be emailed to the Email Id You have provided.

6.2  An Acknowledgement Letter along with prasad from the General Secretary for Your donation. It will be posted to the postal address You have provided.

7  How long do we keep your information?

We store Your information for as long as You continue to use the service provided on Our website.

If the information You have previously provided Us is incorrect or needs to be modified/updated, We will aim to rectify this on a best endeavours basis. Registered donors can update some personal information directly via their account.   

8  Cookies

We currently do not use Cookies on Our website. However, We may, at our discretion use one or more cookies types in the future. By using the website, You are consenting to the use of cookies. Cookies that are directly placed by this website are essential for its operation. Other cookies from third parties may be placed on your computer when you use the website.
